SORSOGON CITY — Before the close of the Provincial and Sorsogon City COMELEC offices which was 5:01 in the afternoon of October 8, 2021, local media practitioners formally filed their COC’s.
Leading the troops is re-electionist board members Edmundo “Ed” Atutubo of the First District and Roland “Mr. Swabe” Añonuevo of the Second District. Both are radio commentators. Both filed their candidacy on October 1.
Not to be left out in the political game is three-termer city councilor of Bacon District, Hilario “Larry” Dioneda, his candidacy was received on the last day of the filing intending a seat in the provincial board.
Another radio broadcaster and program host, a three termer barangay dad of Pangpang, Roland Areola filed as a board member also in the first district.
Not to be outdone, Angeles Apin known as “Maestro Apin,” filed his COC for the city council to represent the East District.
Atutubo and Añonuevo are candidates of the Nationalist Peoples Coalition while the rest are listed as independents.
