The nomination of Senator Chiz Escudero as Senate President by Senator Allan Peter Cayetano today was approved without objection from fellow senators.
Escudero will lead the upper chamber after the ouster of Senator Juan ‘Migz’ Zubiri who was quoted as saying to be an independent member of the body. “ I failed to follow instruction to the power that be” was his comment why he was eased out from the post.
Escudero was sworn in as Senate President by Senator Mark Villar.
