“Hard campaigning, no retreat!”

Candidate for Mayor John Bongat in Naga City, Camarines Sur, junked rumors that he has quit the race, and blamed his opponents for dishing out the lies.

Bongat was Mayor of Naga City for 3 terms, then succeeded by incumbent Mayor Son Legacion, who is now seeking reelection.

Bongat’s group, Coalition for Good Governance, has been campaigning hard in the city, despite his opponents’ machinery, money and giveaway items.

“My opponents are desperate, concocting lies that I allegedly withdrew from the race so that voters will not vote from me,” Bongat said in his FB post Tuesday.

Knowing the psyche of Nagueños who dislike politicians flouting with money and power, Bongat sees victory for his group.

Bongat , 9 years as Mayor, is deeply connected with the people than his opponent, Mayor Legacion.
