Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero is taking another shot as one of the 24 senators in the upper house of the Philippine Congress.
In a survey conducted by Pulse Asia, Escudero is in the top 5 of preferred candidates the same survey ranking prior to his election as a senator ending his term in 2019.
Twelve slots are up for grabs and he is one of the returning senators.
It was reported that he is courted to be in the senatorial slate of political parties, some offered him as their guest candidate for his affiliation is with the Nationalist Peoples Coalition.
The son of Sorsogon started his political career in the lower house after the end of the term of his late father Salvador III. He served as the representative of the province’s first congressional district for three terms.
Before the end of his term, he was the minority leader who initiated an impeachment complaint against former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo which did not prosper. By that, he became a national figure.
