Vice President Leni Robredo feels grateful for the confidence placed on her by 1Sambayan party members when they nominated her as their common candidate for President in May 2022 elections.
“I am grateful for this nomination of 1Sambayan. The trust placed in me by the members of this group is a great honor. I am also grateful to our compatriots who these past weeks and months, have shown their overwhelming support to us,” says Robredo.
Robredo was in Camarines Sur on Thursday morning when her nomination was announced.
Robredo says she recognizes the demands of a President are heavy, carrying with it many responsibilities and obligations — the life and future of the Filipino is at stake.
She says the decision to run, cannot be based on ambition, or on the motivation of others. From within it must come, brought about by dealing with all considerations and in -depth analysis of the situation.
“We are aware of our duty, as leaders and Filipinos, and we do it with sincere meditation and prayer,” she says.
“In the coming days, join me in praying more, that our decision will be what is best for our country.”
