Department of Education (DepEd) on Tuesday warns officials, faculty, and staff not to engage in campaigning and conducting partisan political work in connection with the upcoming 2022 National and Local Elections.

Citing the Constitution, and in accordance with existing rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), government officials and staff are prohibited from engaging in any campaigning and partisan political work to ensure that government employees are focused on public service.

The list of prohibited activities and excluded activities is emphasized in DepEd Order No. 48, series of 2018 (Prohibition on Electioneering and Partisan Political Activity), and its attached CSC Resolution.

“Guided by these policies, we call on staff and stakeholders to observe clean, safe, and fair elections in 2022, for our children and the future of this country,” DepEd said.
