The Governor of Catanduanes still supports Robredo, despite the photo that appeared to allegedly endorse Marcos, Jr.

Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua clarified the news and photos that came out that he, along with other Governors, had endorsed presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos, Jr.

The photo and news came from the social media posting of Masbate Governor Antonio Kho.

In an interview with Radyo Pilipinas in Catanduanes, Governor Cua said that he was only included in the meeting organized by Chavit Singson that Wednesday afternoon, February 16, through Masbate Governor Antonio Kho, whom he met in connection with the sale of a ship.

Cua explained that he was there when Marcos suddenly appeared.

He also said that he was expected to raise his hand during the picture-taking.

Governor Cua clarified that he had no commitment to Marcos.

“I explained the situation in Catanduanes that I can’t go against Leni, I’ll be frank, not even what I promised to go there, but this is what I said. We can’t go against Leni because people in Catanduanes will bash us, people don’t want us, people of Catanduanes are conservative. We are one of the 6 provinces in Bicol, I say we are the most conservative. ”

Cua added, referring to any coming Marcos visit: “The evidence is that if he reaches Catanduanes, I have posters (of Leni). I have headquarters, I know the situation in Bicol. I also did not invite him (Marcos) to go to Catanduanes. It’s a national campaign period, if we have an arrangement there, I have headquarters. ”

Cua also denied that he is neutral, saying he has already printed tarpaulins worth P600K in Catanduanes in support of Robredo.

“I can prove it, during the campaign, I’m for Leni Robredo,” he concluded.
