SORSOGON CITY- A 23-year-old man suffering from depression ended his own life by hanging himself.

His close friends said he was always blaming his parents for abandoning him when he was only 7 months old.

The victim was identified as Rafael Obea, construction worker, and resident of Purok 4, Brgy Capuy, West District, Sorsogon City.

According to the report, around 5:30 a.m., September 24, the victim’s friend discovered his remains on the rooftop of the building under construction in Purok 4, Brgy San Juan Roro, East District, Sorsogon City.

The remains was found hung with a rubber shoelace tied to a clothesline.

Earlier, the victim allegedly had a drink with them, but he again mentioned his frustration with his parents and his desire to know and even see them.

According to the victim’s friend, he repeatedly told the story of his parents abandoning him every time they were drinking.

Initial police investigation revealed there was no foul play in the victim’s death, claiming that there were no other wounds on the body other than the neck caused by the belt used in the suicide.
