2,322 people had benefited from the Sorsogon Provincial Health Office’s Elective Surgery program.
The program, that started on November 13, 2020 at Donsol District Hospital, was backed by Governor Chiz Escudero to provide medical services to doctors from provincial, district and medicare hospitals as they tour the hospitals to practice minor and major surgeries.
The program was last held in Pto. Diaz Medicare Hospital where 19 patients underwent surgery.
The program is of great help to Sorsogon patients, especially those who are not financially able to undergo surgeries, and will no longer need to go to Sorsogon City for surgery.
The public who want to undergo elective surgeries, are encouraged to enroll in provincial, district and medicare hospitals.
