Sorsogon City Councilor Danilo Deladia of Bacon District issued a rejoinder to the news posted by BicolExpress.News, saying that “he ordered the temporary closure of his office at City Hall and Bacon District.”

He closed his offices not because he was positive for COVID-19 and his staff, but out of his responsibility as a public official since he was a close contact of a person who was positive of the virus.

After the hearing, Councilor Deladia found out that one of the attendees, who was a staff of the Sangguniang Panglungsod, tested positive for COVID-19.

Deladia clarified that he called the attention of the Guevara couple present during the hearing that they must isolate, including the other
councilors present and the other resource persons to do the same.

The Councilor said that the hearing was not conducted in his office at City Hall or in his office at Bacon District.

The hearing was conducted at the conference hall of City Hall.

He appealed that his staff should not be discriminated by others.

“I am appealing to those who were present that time that all should be cautious in order to mitigate the spread of the virus,” Councilor Deladia said.

Meantime, Bicol Express News acknowledged the statement of Hon. Danilo Deladia of Bacon District, but maintains the integrity of its story.
