The office of Bacon district City Councilor Danilo Deladia was under lockdown after one of the attendees in the committee hearing chaired by him, tested positive for COVID-19.
The newly discovered patient is a ranking staff of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, acting as secretariat for the hearing.
The staffer was identified as Nereo Sipoy, who has seated between Councilor Deladia and Virgilio Guevara, an invitee for the hearing.
This comes after Sorsogon City experienced a “ballooning” increase in the number of infected residents prompting the City IATF to re-strategize with the Office of City Mayor Ester Hamor.
Mayor Hamor issued Executive Order #34-2021, modifying the guidelines and precautionary measures against COVID-19 that calls for strict implementation.
The lifting of the lockdown is conditional upon the recommendation by City Health authorities.
