Senator Chiz Escudero echoed the call by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for “national unity” to move on together to meet the challenges and overcome obstacles as one strong nation.
“I call on our countrymen to support the new administration as it charts the country’s future amid the many challenges facing the nation in these trying times”, said Escudero.
Senator Escudero congratulated President Marcos during his inauguration on Thursday, June 30, as the 17th President of the Republic.
“Kaisa ako sa hangarin niya na mabigyan ng epektibo at agarang solusyon ang mga pagsubok ng bayan upang tuluyang malampasan natin ito. All hands on deck tayo para sa mabilis na pagbangon at pag-ahon,” he added.
During his Presidential speech, Marcos reiterated his call for “national unity” to move on toward national recovery.
Escudero urged an end to partisan politics: “It is my hope that political parties, regardless of beliefs, persuasion, or ideology, can set aside their differences so we can address with determination and resolve the big task that is before us: to make the lives of 110 million Filipinos better.”
