Ex-Congressman Andaya of Camarines Sur commits suicide, shoots self dead

Camarines Sur former Congressman Rolando Andaya of 1st District was reported dead from suicide in his house at Naga City.

Police probers said Andaya’s personal assistant John Mark Patrick Señar y Delima, upon hearing the gunshot, discovered the victim at his bedroom lying on his left side and a gunshot wound on the right portion of his head.

The assistant immediately called the police at about 10:20 am.

Meanwhile, the victim’s children, Ranton and Katrina M. Andaya, confirmed the former lawmaker’s death.

“With deep grief and sadness, we announce the untimely death of our father, former member of the House of Representatives, Rolando “Nonoy” G. Andaya, Jr., this morning, June 30, 2022.”

“We request for your fervent prayers for his eternal repose, and to allow us, his family, to grieve privately our loss,” they wrote in a social post.
