A group of petitioners prayed for the Supreme Court to stop the ongoing canvassing of votes and the planned proclamation for Presumptive President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr by the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) – Congress.

The same petition requested the Supreme Court to cancel and declare ‘void ab initio’ or no validity in the first place the Certificate of Candidacy of Marcos Jr.

These are contained in the 70-page petition for certiorari filed before the Supreme Court by petitioners Father Christian Buenafe, Fides Lim with others, who had earlier filed for the cancelation of the candidacy of Marcos Jr.

The petition prayed for the Supreme Court to issue a Temporary Restraining Order or TRO on the canvassing and proclamation by the NBOC-Congress for Marcos that will start next week.
