A 46-year-old woman was hacked, stabbed to death at Sitio Naboongan, Bgy. Daguit, Labo, Camarines Norte, on Wednesday night, December 29, 2021.
Her 13-year-old daughter was also wounded at the head when she chanced upon the assailant inside the mother’s room, that caused him to attack her.
According to the girl as told to police investigators, they were sleeping with their 11-year-old sister in a separate room when they woke up to the noise coming from the mother’s room at about 10 pm.
“When the killer saw her, he immediately approached and struck her head with a bolo that slipped onto her left arm causing her to fall down to the floor,” said PLt Col Augusto Manila, OIC chief of Labo MPS.
According to the girl, who is now recovering at a hospital in Daet town, she cannot identify the suspect whose face was covered by a facemask, and had rushed out to escape.
“Currently, the suspect remains unidentified because, according to the victim, he was wearing a facemask,” chief Manila said.
Police investigation on the crime is still going on.
