The proactive Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas was warmly received by Sorsogon Governor Edwin Hamor during the opening of the Southern Luzon Philippine Association of Local Government Accountants (PHALGA).
It will be recalled that Mandanas won a landmark Supreme Court decision that readjusted the local government share of national government revenues which was previously rated on the Internal Revenue Allotment.
The ruling expanded the financial resources of local government to allocate more funds for their development projects giving local government to enhance the inclusive definition of the general welfare clause of RA 7160, the Local Government Code of 1991.
On his part Hamor has nothing to say but good words for Mandanas as a champion of expanded local government role in nation building as evidence by Mandanas petition to equitably share to LGU’s national government revenues.
It was an apt choice for PHALGA to invite Mandanas as their keynote speaker and their choice of Sorsogon to held the conference inly prove that Sorsogon is rolling as a go to destination for national conventions aside from the establish agenda that it has what it takes to offer the best.
