As an incentive and to entice those jeepney associations yet to comply with the jeepney modernization program of the national government the Province of Sorsogon launched the “Kabuhayan Program” funded under the 7K agenda upon the assumption of Edwin Hamor as governor of the province.
The quarterly assistance of a sack of rice per unit of a modernized jeepney run by cooperatives was recently released according to lawyer Cesar Balmaceda “Kabuhayan” program manager.
It is a co-opting formula of the province with the national agenda.in modernizing the jeepney which is critical to public road infrastructures long a backbone of the land transportation system.
Currently the jeepney cooperatives of Bulusan, Gubat, Prito Diaz, Juban-Magallanes, Bulan are plying air conditioned modernized jeepneys.
