Additional stricter measures under EO 36-2021 imposed in Sorsogon City

As an indispensable and essential measure to curtail the Spread of COVID-19 in Sorsogon City, City Mayor Ma. Ester Hamor issued EO 36-2021 imposing lockdown during weekends and adjusting the curfew hours from 7 in the evening until 5 in the morning effective September 13, 2021,

This comes after the Province of Sorsogon was categorized by the Department of Health under Level 4. Level 4 is a high-risk classification of a locality because of the surge of COVID-19 cases aside from the confirmed Delta variant identified in a random sampling undertaken to patients suffering from COVID-19 in the city and in the
town of Pto. Diaz.

The highly transmissible variant identified in a random sampling of patients affected by COVID-19 required much stricter health protocols. This month the city recorded 22 new active cases per day.

The movement of people is hereby restraint as a precaution for the spread of the virus wherein in-charged to conduct contact tracing and case finding may have a complete database and to avoid overburdening the health care system of the city.

The imposition of of the weekend lockdown exempts healthcare workers, front liners, essential workers and authorized persons outside of their residence(APOR) falling under the guidelines set by the IATF, and those seeking essential medical services will be allowed outside of their residence.

The liquor ban as imposed in EO 34-2021 of the city mayor remains unless modified, the mass gathering is suspended. Religious services are allowed but with 30% capacity and shall be within the place of worship once a day.

Still suspended is the hosting of sports activities in any form to avoid unnecessary gatherings but individual outdoor exercises within the general area of the residence, barangay, within the subdivision of the community but shall comply with the public health protocols is allowed.

To implement and monitor the strict compliance of the EO a composite team of PNP, SK3, CDRRMO, BFP, Barangay officials and its auxiliary force were tasked. Violators shall be meted with penalties as imposed by the IATF.
