Two unidentified gunmen shot a farmer dead in Sitio Tiotoy, Barangay Sta. Cruz, Palanas, Masbate, on Monday, October 17, 2022.
The police identified the victim as Leonido Pinote Ariscon, 43 years old, married, and resident of Purok 1, Barangay Sta. Cruz.
He died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The two gunmen fled after the incident.
Police investigation revealed that, at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022, Chairwoman Gemma L. Camacho of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Palanas, reported the shooting incident.
PEMS Rolando D. Banatasa, DCOP, led a team to the crime scene to conduct an investigation.
The police concluded the victim was walking home when he was chased by the two men with guns who shot him several times.
Motive for the shooting was not yet established and the identities of the gunmen are still unknown.
