Legazpi City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, or CDRRMO, warns the public from swimming in the sea off Legazpi City Boulevard, now reported having presence of box jellyfish.
Yearly, there are reported deaths from box jellyfish and swimmers are warned over their seasonal appearance.
The local government will put up warning signs in the said area, also urging barangay chiefs to follow the warning notice and implement it in their respective areas.
This follows a notice from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources or BFAR and Legazpi City Integrated Coastal Resource Management.
