Visitors, tourists spending boost Casiguran economy in Sorsogon; new tourist sites

Casiguran town in Sorsogon Province has more to show in tourism as more sites are being discovered.

Mr. Angel Ayala, head of Casiguran Municipal Tourism Office, says new tourist destinations are discovered and developed in the town that will boost its tourism and local economy despite of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The town has more potential tourism sites that will help augment the income of residents.

Mr. Ayala finds promoting tourism for the town as challenging amidst competitiveness in various tourist destinations in the country.

He said Casiguran tourism is giving emphasis to domestic tourism, in addition to the vast clientele from spill out in international tourism.

Domestic tourists, from neighboring towns, nearby provinces, can boost up the town economy in terms of visitors spending, patronage to local services, and job-creation related to this thriving tourism sector.

Mr. Ayala said: “We would like to thank Mr. Jose Carretero and media friends for covering and helping us in promoting our town tourist destinations.”

“I cannot discount the contribution of the media in helping me eversince I took over as tourism officer,” Ayala said over radio interview.

“I attribute this tourism success to the full support of Mayor Edwin Hamor who started conceptualizing the development plans and programs on tourism,” he said.
