Thieves scooped up pieces of expensive jewelry unnoticed from a jewelry store inside a mall in Naga City, Camarines Sur, triggering police browsing available CCTV footages to identify the perpetrators.

The theft, more of a “salisi gang operation”, happened Saturday noon at the ground floor of a mall.

Taken by the thieves were pieces of gold jewelry, about 80 gold rings, worth 1.4 million pesos, the jeweler said.

A saleslady said 7 persons, five men and two women, pretending to be customers entered the store and started looking over the display counters.

A person from the group approached the saleslady, inquiring about a particular pendant that caught his interest.

Assuring the saleslady that he would withdraw money from the ATM, he left, while the other group members had left earlier.

At this moment, the saleslady discovered the pieces of jewelry were missing from the display shelf.

The Naga City Police Office had investigated the incident.

Probers had searched available CCTV footages throughout the mall to identify the thieves.
