The number could be as high as 9,009 who will receive financial assistance from the city government of Sorsogon as part of the GROUPIE (Gender-Responsive for Organized and Unified Persons with Disabilities, Indigents and Elderlies) program Mayor Ester Hamor.
The qualified PWD will receive six thousand pesos while the senior citizens are entitled to one thousand eight hundred pesos representing two-quarters of assistance this year.
City Mayor Hamor instructed the social welfare office to schedule the release per district and to implement safety health protocols in turn it coordinated with the district’s barangays to disseminate the information and schedule of release.
The schedule for the beneficiaries of the West District is on October 26-29, for the East District on November 11 and 12 while the Bacon District schedule is November 4–9, 2021.
