Senate President must not have much business interests to protect, says Tulfo; eyes Escudero

Senator-elect Raffy Tulfo said he prefers the Senate President who doesn’t have much business interest to protect.

Tulfo may be interpreted as preferring a Senate President who doesn’t represent the interests of big business, political dynastys, and oligarchs’ agenda.

Currently, some Senators representing Big Business and oligarchic interests are secretly lobbying for the Senate Presidency.

Tulfo said he called up Senator-elect Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Thursday to ask whether he has plans to run for the Senate presidency.

Tulfo said Chiz is thinking about the Senate Presidency.

Outsider from this circle of big league Senators, Escudero is contemplating to run for Senate President, however no official word yet from the Senator’s camp.

Aside from Escudero, three (3) other Senators, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senators Cynthia Villar and Imee Marcos, were also reported as eyeing the Senate presidency.
