Residents, travelers to Poblacion, Castilla fined for non-face mask use

As early as September, the barangay council of Ang Bag-ong Poblacion in Castilla town imposed a 500 peso fine for not wearing face masks outside of their resident. It also forewarned travelers going to the barangay that they are not exempted from the imposed sanction.

This comes after the barangay on September 23 posted on their FB page that no recorded positive case so far.

The barangay council health services are on top of the situation wherein it monitors close contacts, direct and secondary contacts to avoid the spread of COVID-19. But in spite of their strict measures to observe health protocols but on October 4, a 45-year-old male was positive with the Delta Variant.

All cases were reported to appropriate health authorities for their assessment and evaluation as the community grapples that lack of discipline might be to blame for the positive case.

Barangay Chairman Alex Sotto has instructed the council health committee to assist in the best possible way residents who might be in close contact with the new positive case and appealed that one should come forward if close contact for easy monitoring.
