A policeman arrested a 29-year-old man who pretended being a “cop” at a restobar in Sorsogon City.
The “impostor” was identified as Alexander Baron Hije, a marketing agent of a private company and resident of Crossing Purok 6, Barangay Rizal in Casiguran.
The victim, subject of Hije’s impersonation, is a real cop assigned to the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) – Sorsogon.
Report said the victim was to pickup his son who was working at the restobar when he chanced upon Hije, who allegedly bragged being a police officer and showed the victim a gun inside his sling bag.
Doubting Hije being a cop, the victim who is real policeman, asked for his ID, and made a move to disarm him, effecting a “warrantless arrest.”
The commotion attracted other responding policemen who neutralized the alleged “impostor”.
The gun was found out to be an airsoft pistol.
Hije will face charges of Usurpation of Authority.
