The person previously reported as missing was found floating in the coastal barangay of Calintaan, Matnog, Sorsogon around noon of January 30, 2023, positively identified by the family members as Jerry F. Candia of Barangay Cogon, Bulusan, Sorsogon.
His identity was confirmed based on his clothing and haircut which was reported missing on January 28 at around 4 in the morning.
The retrieval operation was conducted by Matnog DRRMO, SPDRRMO, Bantay Dagat, and Coast Guard personnel stationed in the town. On hand also was the MDRRMO of Bulusan.
The remains were processed at the local funeral home for repatriation to the family.
