Multi-awarded Bicolano singer-songwriter Karl Ramirez released a solemn but powerful track “Di Matitinag” (Unshakable) on July 29, 2022.
This is the first in a series of songs he is releasing through Believe Music Philippines and Musika Publiko this year.
“When life’s challenges seem to be insurmountable, when we feel no way out of the oppression, ‘Di Matitinag’ is a song hoping to inspire and move us all into the right direction,” said Ramirez.
Karl Ramirez’ Bicol roots are from Albay, although he currently resides in Camarines Sur.
He is the music producer and frontman of the socially relevant pop-rock band Pordalab.
His musical works were nominated 5 times by award-giving bodies, and were recipient of awards at the 33rd and 36th PMPC Star Awards, and the 65th FAMAS.
“Amidst the anxiety, mixed emotions, and even hopelessness that Filipinos are probably feeling right now, I hope I can help in raising their spirit through this song”, Ramirez said.
Ramirez’ upcoming releases will also be distributed digitally by Believe, a Paris-headquartered music company and a leading player in digital distribution in South East Asia.
Believe recently acquired a stake in the Philippines’ Viva Music and Artist Group.
His releases are in partnership with Musika Publiko, a Philippine network of composers, musicians, and music producers whose main advocacy is socially relevant music making.
