JM Robredo Foundation on boosting up children reading efficiency amid pandemic problems

In Naga City, Camarines Sur, Mayor Son Legacion and Naga City Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Mariano de Guzman signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), with the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation, DepEd-Naga, and LGU-Naga, for New YugTwo of the JMR Foundation’s Bayan Ko, Titser Ko (BKTK 2.0) program.

An Bayan Ko, Titser Ko, is a reading literacy program that aims to promote reading to children, now in the face of the pandemic, in collaboration with Local Governments and Education department.

The program, has three (3) aspects:
(1) Provision of BAKits or Bitbit Lesson Kits; (2) Improving the wisdom of parents; and
(3) Gathering a community of volunteers.

The said program has already been implemented in the towns of Mulanay and General Luna, Quezon Province.

According to Quezon officials, educators, parents and community volunteers in their areas, the program has been of great help to their children.

In Naga City, the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation with Ms. Aika Robredo, as acting chairperson of the Foundation, and Vice President Leni Gerona Robredo, are currently pushing for realization of program implementation.

The program shall help the children to improve their reading and comprehension, amid the limitations due to the pandemic.
