LGU Gubat, Sorsogon, hosted the 1-day training on Smoked-fish Processing for barangay-beneficiaries from seven (7) municipalities – Gubat, Barcelona, Bulusan, Sta. Magdalena, Juban, Magallanes, Casiguran on 30 May 2022 at the Community Fish Landing, Brgy. Daco na Cota.
The said training was facilitated by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg).
In Gubat, three (3) barangay-beneficiaries, Brgy’s Pinontingan, Balud del Sur and Balud del Norte participated in the training.
Gubat Mayor Sharon Escoto encouraged the participants, “I hope dako an maaraman nato sa training na ini. Ini hatag san gobyerno sa ato, daku-dako man ini na danon sa pangkabuhayan san kada sayo.”
The Mayor also encouraged everyone to explore, “Diri lang siguro lawlaw pwede mahimo niyo, let us explore something else, daghan pa na klase sin isda an pwede ta mahimo na tinapa. Dini sa Gubat, pwede man sa bangus kay may fish cages man kita.”
“Let us start sharing knowledge para mas daghan an ato matukduan as well as madagdagan an ato kinaadman. Mao po yan an esensya sin SHARED Governance”, Mayor Escoto added.
Part of the activity was the turn-over of equipment and smoking machines.
