The dead fisherman found on a boat drifting from Masbate toward Sorsogon was now identified as Dominador Cardinno of Barangay Royroy, Batuan, Masbate.
This was confirmed by the barangay captain.
The corpse on the boat was found drifting near the San Bernardino LightHouse in Bulusan, Sorsogon on October 18.
A local media interview with Barangay Captain Bonifacio Calinawan of Barangay Royroy in Batuan said the victim, who was last seen on October 15, had been drinking a lot in the morning and took a nap on a boat at a nearby beach.
Possibly, the boat was not tied and had drifted away without the victim’s knowledge. Also possible, the victim suffered a heart stroke and died on the boat while it drifted away.
