The bridge on the boundary of Barangay Gabao and Gulang-Gulang, Irosin, Sorsogon is dangerous for motorists
The bridge may collapse. A big hole on the bridge is only covered with flat iron sheet, revealing the bad condition of the bridge.
In a FB post by Judy Logronio, she said, “This is a message of concern on the present situation of the bridge which serves as a boundary between Bgy. Gulang-Gulang and Bgy. Gabao of the Municipality of Irosin, Province of Sorsogon. I am a former resident of Bgy. Gabao, I was concerned about the situation of the bridge, which in my opinion is dangerous for passing vehicles.”
Someone may have an accident or maybe (worst scenario) they will suddenly fall.
“With the number of passers -by, trucks, jeepneys, tricycles,, and two buses had passed over, while we were there, the structure may not handle the weight,” the post said.
“I don’t know which government agency has jurisdiction for this bridge to get its attention for repair.”
” Is this the responsibility of Barangay Gabao, LGU Irosin, Provincial Engineers Office, or the Department of Public Works and Highways?”.
Meantime, a report said the Barangay Council of Gabao had passed resolution for the repair of the bridge. Other affected barangays also joined the resolution.
But, the resolutions went nowhere, possibly into the trash can.
