COVID-19 cases dropped slightly this Saturday, August 21, 2021, compared to Friday, the Department of Health recorded 16,694 additional COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, 15,805 were cured and 398 died.
Of the total number of recorded cases in the country, 6.8% (123,935) were active cases, 91.5% (1,668,520) were cured, and 1.73% (31,596) died.
According to the latest report, all laboratories were operational on August 19, 2021 while there were 4 laboratories that failed to submit data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Based on data over the past 14 days, the contribution of these 4 labs was approximately 2.7% in all samples tested and 4.2% in all positive individuals.
In the coming days, our COVID-19 cases may increase. Adherence to minimum public health standards, good implementation of PDITR strategies, and vaccination remain the most effective defense against COVID-19. It is also important that we isolate and interact with BHERTs if we have symptoms of COVID-19.
