Local Government of Gubat in Sorsogon is set to start the construction of the Municipal Park inside the municipal compound.
This development comes after the proposal in the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of the municipality that the town would need 3.29 hectares more of land.
In line with this, site preparations such as demolition of old municipal building already started.
Cutting of nineteen (19) multi-species trees will take place this Saturday, 16 October 2021, with permission granted by Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office Sorsogon.
The trees that will be cut will be replaced with at least one thousand (1,000) trees to be planted under the “Project Gubat sa Gubat” that will be implemented through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).
Mayor Sharon Rose G. Escoto said, “LGU Gubat is committed to supporting the development of more parks and recreation facilities that encourage participation and contributes to the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups in the community.”
Mayor Sharon believes that such parks and recreation facilities can be a venue for positive social change as it helps bind families through shared experiences.
