CASTILLA, Sorsogon — The difference between lip service and compassionate service was defined by Mayor Isagani “Bong” Mendoza of Castilla when he personally delivered a wheelchair to Maricel Arieta of Barangay Dinapa. She is a cancer victim causing her paralysis.
The mayor together with the personnel of the social welfare office, that of the Tabang Center, and assisted by the town PNP fulfilled another life-changing assistance as they fulfilled a dream of the cancer patient to regain her self-confidence and productive life ahead. The team also gifted her some grocery items.
A case study was conducted by the social welfare office that though fighting with cancer she refused to give up and inch her will to help their family making her to the list of wheelchair beneficiaries.
The mayor said that he appreciated her will to overcome her condition.
Her positive approach in life. Acknowledging she said, my morale is so low with my condition but this gift lifted my self-confidence.
