A bus driver is dead after being shot by an unidentified suspect, in Purok 1, Brgy. Tugos, West District, Sorsogon City around 5:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
The victim was identified as Donnie Dean Malayo Benetiz, 51 years old, married, bus driver and resident of Brgy. Salvacion, Pamplona, Camarines Sur.
The initial investigation revealed that the victim and suspect had a heated confrontation that resulted in the said incident, after which the suspect fled in an unknown direction.
The Sorsogon City PNP requested assistance from the Sorsogon Provincial Forensic Unit for the crime scene investigation while the police personnel conducted a hot pursuit operation for the possible capture of the fleeing suspect.
