The Sorsogon Provincial Hospital surgeons and anesthesiologist who were trained at Cho Ray hospital in Vietnam on endoscopy procedure made a milestone on April 22 this year to an undisclosed patient the first endoscopy procedure at the hospital using the high end Fuji Endoscopy Colonoscopy Tower to examine the gastrointestinal track of the patient which was successful.

The team of doctors led by Dr Roberto Chacon Jr and Dr Oscar Halum Jr as surgeons and Dr Thames Ocfemia and Dr Sam Balmes as anesthesiologist performed the procedure that enhanced the professionalism of the medical staff of the hospital.

The high end equipment was sourced by the province from the funds of DOH Facilities Enhancement Program as a modernization thrust including the ongoing trainings of doctors and nurses on new medical trends.
