Mayor Sharon Rose Glipo-Escoto of Gubat, Sorsogon on Wednesday publicly welcomed Vice President Leni Robredo, running mate Senator Francis Pangilinan, and their senatorial candidates in the town for the kick-off of their campaign in the Bicol Region.
“We are very honored to have here our honorable Vice President Leni Gerona Robredo and her party, and for choosing Gubat as the venue of their kick-off area for the Bicol leg of their campaign,” Mayor Escoto said.
“VP Leni has been an inspiration for us, thank you for the wisdom and learnings during the Galing Pook days. Thank you for the guidance! Naging giya sya para sa development sin ato bongto.” Mayor Escoto said.
She also welcomed other visitors, including Atty. Chel Diokno, Congressman Teddy Baguilat, Jr., and other officials from the towns of Barcelona, Bulusan, Pto. Diaz, and Bulan.
A motorcade was conducted around the población where the party stopped at the Christ the King Park to deliver their campaign speeches where supporters from Gubat and other towns of Sorsogon were waiting.
The party then proceeded to Sorsogon City as part of their whole day round of mini rallies in different parts of the Bicol region.
Mayor Sharon also thanked the Gubat Municipal Police Station, Sorsogon Provincial Police Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, 31st Infantry Battalion Philippine Army, poblacion barangay councils, and volunteers for maintaining the security and safety of the activity.
