The Municipality of Gubat through its Local Youth Development Office received four (4) units of laptop for its Youth Center from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The Youth Center will serve as access point for the Cybersafe Learning for Education of the DICT, which shall provide access to information, communication, technology,non-formal education, and skills training.
The laptops will also be shared with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to provide persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) access to video call to their families and online learning.
The event was led by Usec. Alain A. Silor, Undersecretary for Resilient Government Emergency Commubications; RD Carmela P. Valencia, Regional Director R5; and Mr. Merlin Fabricante, OIC Administrative and Finance Division/ Provincial Officer- Sorsogon.
On behalf of Mayor Sharon Rose G. Escoto, the municipality was represented by Mr. Patrick Erestain, Municipal Administrator/ Local Youth Development Officer; Mr. Larry Arguelles, LYDO staff; and, Ms. Claire Fajardo, President of GNHS Yes-O representing the Local Youth Development Council.
