262 jobless in Castilla town now earning via TUPAD

The Department of Labor (DOLE) Bicol allocated 262 slots for the Municipality of Castilla residents under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD).

The beneficiaries of the program depending on the nature of work to be undertaken but not to exceed thirty days will earn their wages for ten days which may either include social community projects, economic community projects and agro-forestry projects.

With the assistance of PESO person and barangay officials listing of beneficiaries was facilitated without problems encountered.

The town of Castilla according to Mayor Isagani “Bong” Mendoza provided appropriate personal protective equipment, long sleeves as uniforms and appropriate sun blockers for use for their assigned work.

He assured DOLE representatives that all of the enrolled beneficiaries will undertake the composite training after the project about self or wage employment.

The Technical Education Skills Development Authority(TESDA) will handle the end training for Work Scholarship Program.
