More than 1,200 farmers in Castilla, Sorsogon were selected by the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute, under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund, to give each of them Php 5,000.00 as Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA).
To qualify, the farmer must be registered with the Castilla Municipal Agriculture office in collaboration with Mayor Isagani Bong Mendoza.
“Many of our fellow farmers are at a loss and have low incomes, so apart from seed and fertilizer aid, the investment they will receive from such aid will also be of great help to them,” said Mayor Mendoza.
Mayor Mendoza, through his program, has been helping the farmers recover from the hardship caused by low grain prices, disasters, pest infestation and ongoing pandemics.
