An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude earthquake shook southeastern part of Taiwan on Sunday, derailing train carriages, causing a convenience store to collapse and trapping hundreds of people on mountain roads.
The epicenter was in Taitung county, that came after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred on the same area on Saturday evening.

There are no reports yet about Filipino workers affected in Taiwan or industrial sites hit where there are Filipino workers.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Government has not issued any official statement over the status of Filipinos residing or working in Taiwan.
The PH government is still awaiting reports from its embassy in Taipei , and from contacts of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Labor, and Department of Migrant Workers.
