Suspected rebel shot dead in Albay

Combined police-Army team shot dead a suspected member of the rebel New People’s Army at Barangay Anislag, Daraga, Albay at about 3 pm, Saturday, May 28.

According to the local Police, the operation was launched over reports that the said rebel was extorting money from local businessmen in the area.

According to the narrative, the suspected rebel on motorcycle opened fire at the approaching police team which forced the police-Army team to fire back, killing him on the spot.

The alleged rebel remained unidentified.
