SORSOGON PROVINCE – After Board Member Juan Guysayko of the second district tested positive followed by SP presiding officer Manuel Fortes Jr and the latest was BM Edmundo Atutubo, there is a possibility that the provincial board session may not push through on schedule Monday next week.

Last Monday, May 24 before the start of the regular session, Guysayko experienced body weakness causing him to slide from his chair. He was rush to the hospital. He was positive of the virus. One who assisted him was BM Atutubo.

Before the start of the regular session, those present are in executive session oblivious if Guysayko might be positive for Covid-19. Days later Fortes in a public post confirmed that he was positive for Covid. Days after it was Atutubo’s turn to confirm that he tested positive.

Fortes office is under lockdown.

Atutubo has manifested mild symptoms on May 25. Guysayko and Atutubo are in the senior citizen age bracket.

It was not known if the rest of the provincial board members may isolate themselves and their staff and the secretariat for they are in direct contact with Fortes and Atutubo in the close door executive session and during the holding of the regular session on May 24. No word yet from the Vice-governor to order a lockdown of the SP
building.

The full membership of the provincial board are members of the info caravan conducting information education campaigns to local government units oftentimes traveling in groups.
