PDEA nabs policeman over illegal drugs in Camarines Sur

Authorities in Camarines Sur seized a policeman who sold illegal drug shabu in a buy-bust operation organized by the police and personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The buy-bust was set up in Barangay Hibago, Ocampo, Camarines Sur, at past 7 o’clock Monday morning, August 8.

Two sachets containing suspected shabu worth P68,000 were recovered from him during the operation.

The suspect, age 43, is a police officer on active service, a Non-Commissioned officer with the rank of Police Chief Master Sergeant.

A service firearm, a Glock 17 9mm, ammunition, magazine and a folded knife were also seized from him.

According to a police report, the suspect is assigned with the Police Provincial Office of Camarines Sur.

The operation was initiated over reports of the suspect’s alleged involvement in the use and sale of illegal drugs.

The policeman is also involved in extorting money from some drug personalities in Ocampo and Sagnay in exchange for protection.

He is also involved in illegal gambling activities, police report said.

According to police, the suspect has been in service for 20 years.

The suspect is now in the custody of PDEA-Bicol, for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
