The Ako Bicol Partylist with two seats in the 19th Congress named Mayor Isagani “Bong” Mendoza Castilla town mayor as their provincial coordinator for the province of Sorsogon. This was confirmed by their second congressional representative Atty. Raul Angelo “Jil” Bongalon during the formal inauguration of their provincial office here in Sorsogon City.
Mendoza a two termer said that before his involvement with the Partylist, he sought permission from the NPC leadership of the province and was given the go to become the coordinator of Ako Bicol here adding that his acceptance of another responsibility will not hinder his obligations and responsibilities as chief executive of his town. “With the pace in technology communications is much easier and be acted in dispatch.”
The newly installed provincial coordinator said that his acceptance should not be seen as his stepping stone for a provincial position rather Ako Bicol has been supporting provincial programs. It is only thus far the Partylist who funded hard and soft projects not only in his municipality but other towns of the province. Medical, burial, education scholarship, assistance to the indigent in crises, GIP and TUPAD livelihood assistance are but a few of the social agendas it is espousing.
Congressman Bongalon said that they are strengthening the presence of their group province-wide and have seen the ability and trustworthiness of Mayor Mendoza aside from his hands-on management style. His position will be the line of other local chief executives in accessing the generated partylist funds as one of their representatives chairs the powerful and influential appropriations committee in the current congress that has directly and principally relating to the expenditures of the national government among other things.
Mendoza is back-staff by coordinators for the first and second district of the province.
