A composter and shredder for a farmer’s organization arrived in Castilla, Sorsogon from the Bureau of Soils and Water Management of the Department of Agriculture.
“This is a big help to increase the production of harvested rice, vegetables and other products of farmers,” said Mayor Isagani “Bong” Mendoza.
He said it can be used for the production of organic fertilizers for crops, and will increase agriculture production of the town.

Meanwhile, Mayor Mendoza, with the Municipal Agriculture Office, distributed fertilizers and tarpaulins to some farmers with plantations that are under the Philippine Rice Information System (PRISM).
Under PRISM, farmers can use other technological methods and systems to better monitor the condition of their farms, and make recommendations for the improvement of agricultural production.
The beneficiaries received supplies from the said program so they can improve the condition of the plantations.
With the continuous efforts by Mayor Mendoza, more and more farmers are being helped through various aids in Castilla.
