Amid heightened speculation that Vice President Leni Robredo is ready to aim lower for the Governor post in Camarines Sur, she said Friday her option for the presidency remains open.
Robredo reminded the public her option to run for President remains open.
“I have not made a decision yet to run for Governor,” she said.
In Camarines Sur, political spin masters have woven scenarios for her to aim for the Governor post.
For her running for Governor, she has a better chance of winning and kicking out the Villafuerte from power, a scenario that makes the anti- Villafuerte groups happy.
The Villafuertes have a strong grip on Camarines Sur politics, dominated by father-son team, Congressman LRay Villafuerte of second district, and Governor Migz Villafuerte.
Much happier is the Malacañang guys, that would change the political equation with Robredo out of the presidential race.
Many suspect that the Leni -for- Governor ploy is a Malacañang plot to kick Robredo out from the presidential race in 2022.
“Running for president is still my option,” Robredo reiterated.
“There are many factors to consider, and I will make my final decision and inform the public in due time,” she said.
