Iloilo bettor hits P49.5M Ultra lotto jackpot

By Christopher Lloyd Caliwan

MANILA – A bettor from Iloilo province became an instant millionaire after guessing the six-digit combination of the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw on Friday night.

In an advisory on Saturday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said the lotto patron from Iloilo City nailed the winning combination of 24-39-31-19-42-13 and will take home PHP49.5 million.

He was the fifth lone winner this year and sixth overall.

Winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim the prize at the PCSO main office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.

Winners should write their names and signature on the back of the winning tickets for security purposes and present two government-issued identification cards or documents.

Lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 are subject to 20-percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

The Ultra Lotto 6/58 is drawn every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

The other previous winners were from Parañaque City on Jan. 2, Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot of PHP56 million; Calamba City, Laguna, and Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental on Jan. 7, Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot of PHP142 million; Davao del Sur on Jan. 17, Lotto 6/42 jackpot of PHP35 million; and Manila on Jan. 19, Super Lotto 6/49 jackpot of PHP79.15 million.

The PCSO urges the public to patronize its games to generate more funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities for indigents. (PNA)
