The DOH, UP-PGC and UP-NIH today report the detection of additional 466 cases with the Delta variant, 105 cases with the Beta variant, 90 cases with the Alpha variant, 41 cases with the P.3 variant from the latest batch of samples sequenced by the UP-PGC.
A total of 746 samples were sequenced for this batch.
Of the 746 samples sequenced, 62.4% had the Delta variant, 14% had the Beta variant, 12% had the Alpha variant, 5.5% had the P.3 variant, while the rest were other variants of interest (VOIs).
During this MECQ, everyone should continue to adhere to the MPHS and get vaccinated for free when eligible.
Meanwhile, the government and LGUs should strive to improve the country’s vaccine coverage and shorten case detection to isolation/quarantine to lessen COVID-19 cases.
